From Mr. Ludlow: Jamaica Parent meeting Wednesday March 13th at 6:00, the meeting will end in time for the band/choir concert, bring a sandwich if dinner is a worry!  We really need full parent participation.

From Mrs. Kristovic: All students in grades 9 – 12 need to sign-up for their Quarter 4 Seminar. Please use this link to access the sign-up:

Seminar responses are due by Tuesday at 4 p.m., but, as always, seminar selection is first come, first served, so those who complete their seminar sign-up first have first priority for their selections.

From Mrs. Kristovic:  On Wednesday, March 20, will be our Academic Advising and Course Registration Night for rising grades 7-8 (current grades 6-7).  This night provides an opportunity for parents and students to sit down with an Instructional Leader to talk about possible courses for next year. Students will receive their forms in class next week to take home.  The night runs from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

From Mrs. Fleming:

AP Exam Registration

Registration for Advanced Placement exams is in progress.  Students may earn credits from their college based on their AP Exam scores. All students taking AP courses  are highly encouraged to take the AP Exam. The exams are in May and there is a $94 fee for each exam taken.  Students should register by March 15th. Students register with their AP teacher or World Language teacher. Checks made out to Lumen Christi should be taken to the LC Main Office.

The registration deadline is March 22nd.

ACT Aspire Testing

Students in grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 will be taking the ACT ASPIRE test in April. The Aspire test provides information on a student’s progress and provides scores based on the ACT scoring system. Please note the following dates and avoid taking your student out for appointments on their testing date.

From Sarah Wilhelm:Attn: Spring Sport Athletes! The spring season will quickly be upon us! Please make sure you have a current physical on file with me in the athletic training room. If you don’t have one come try outs, you can’t participate. Feel free to email me ( with questions.

From Mrs. Garred: Reminder that all Jackson Area Career Center enrollment forms (for new career center students) are due to Mrs. Garred no later than March 15.

From Mr. Havlicek: Juniors: Set up your College Meetings with Mr. H ASAP…time to start scheduling College Visits for the springtime. Email with any questions.

From Mr. Marcero: Please support the arts by attending our Dueling Pianos Fundraiser, “Music Under the Lights,” on March 23rd from 6-11 pm. Tickets are $100 per plate and includes a buffet dinner by Gene Davis with chicken, beef, potatoes, pasta salad, house salad, appetizers, and desserts. Cocktail hour starts at 6 pm, dinner at 7 pm, and dueling piano entertainment from 8-10 pm. All reservations must be prepaid, through Elena Beasley and the main office. Email Elena at or call/text 517-740-4932. Reservations must be placed and paid for by March 15th. The event was a rousing success for last year’s Carnegie trip, and we hope you can join us to help us raise funds for a new lighting system for all of our masses, concerts, and theatre productions!

From the Drama Department:  The auditions were held, the cast was chosen, the songs and dances are being practiced, and the lines are being learned.  Now all we need is an audience!  Mark your calendars for our spring musical:  OKLAHOMA!  The curtain will open on Friday and Saturday, March 8th & 9th at 7:30 p.m. or on Sunday, March 10th at 3 p.m.  Reserved seats are $20, and general admission seats are $5-$12.  Call 517-917-4302 for more information

  • Congratulations to all our competitors whose seasons ended this past week.
  • Next week we do not have any high school or middle school events.
  • Monday during lunch girls tennis will have a meeting in the presentation room.  Girls may get their lunch and then report to meet Marcy Smith.
