This Week at LC 5.4

From the Advancement Office:  Thank you for your generous support of our spring raffle!  We know our parents and students are forces for supporting Catholic education every spring!  This year, we raised over $98,000 to exceed our earnings from last year.  Thank you for choosing LC!

From the Advancement Office: Attention Senior Families. Class of 2018 yard signs are here. Stop in the Advancement Office and pick yours up!

From our Partners at FLAGG: Foreign Links Around the Globe (FLAG) is looking for host families for students who are excited to become part of the Lumen Chrisit family in the fall. A monthly stipend is available. Please contact Colleen at

From the Library:  All seniors that have library books checked out are reminded to be sure to get them turned in before the start of exam week.  No late fines will accessed unless the book is lost and most be replaced.  Also, if any senior still needs to take book tests, they will be given priority seating before or after school.

From the Prom: We are in the running for Prom of the week!  Please vote for Lumen Christi’s prom here:

From The Main Office:  Enrollment for the year is with the online completion of FACTS ENROLLMENT.  All families must set up a Tuition Payment Plan with FACTS under the Jackson Area Catholic School System.  Each family is required to pay a non-refundable yearly family enrollment fee of $55 prior to May and $75 after May 1.

FACTS Enrollment will take you 5 minutes!  Visit the Lumen Christi website and click on “FACTS Enrollment” under Quicklinks to begin enrollment.   Complete the enrollment information and required forms.  FACTS Enrollment is your commitment to be a Titan!

From the Main Office: Thank you for your feedback on last week’s academic survey!  We had over 100 responses to help guide our planning for next year.

We would like your feedback regarding the new traffic pattern this year with entry and exit from school.  Our faculty’s perspective has been that it has created a much safer driving and walking environmental for all in the front of the school, but we want to make sure we hear from all perspectives.   Please complete the following short survey to help us plan for next year:

From Campus Ministry:  On Tuesday, May 8, we will be celebrating May Crowning.  Our 8th Grade students will be featured in this special celebration.  Following the Mass , we will be doing a Eucharistic Procession.  Any family member is welcome to join us for Mass at 9:30 a.m. on this special day.

From The Main Office:  Attached is the Lumen Christi Catholic School 2018-2019 Tentative School Calendar.

From Mrs. Kristovic:  Lumen Christi is hiring exceptional educators for the 18-19 school year!  We currently have openings in high school math, high school English, and middle school English.  Please use the following link to access the postings:  This year, we are piloting a referral program.  If you recommend and connect a candidate via e-mail, teachers can earn a $500 referral bonus and parents can earn a $500 tuition credit.  To be eligible, the candidate must be hired and work for at least one semester.  Thank you for your help in finding the best possible educators for our classrooms!

From Mrs. Miller:  Check out artwork from our 7th-12th grade artists featured at this year’s Jackson County Art Show at the Jackson Crossing.  The Lumen Christi display will be by the Sears/Alpha Coney Island end of the mall.  The display will run from Monday, April 23rd to Monday, May 7th.  See all the awesome talent from our LC students!

From the Business Office:  A gentle reminder that all tuition for seniors must be paid in full before graduation to receive their diploma.

From the Cafeteria:  Thank you to all the parents and families who have continuously made payments to your student’s lunch account balance!!  For your information the following dates apply to SENIORS:  May 10, 2018-May 15, 2018 only cash purchases will be allowed unless there is enough positive lunch balance to cover the cost of the meal.  In coordination with the business office, remaining positive lunch balances may be used to pay other outstanding fees or will be transferred to a younger sibling if that applies.  If there is not a sibling to transfer positive lunch account funds to and if all fees have been paid, then the family will be refunded.

From Mr. Havlicek: Congrats to the more than 40 students who have reported scholarships for the graduation booklet! The last day they be submitted is May 7th. Please email aid letters to Mr. Havlicek as soon as possible so we may display the tremendous awards your student received for all their hard work the last 4 years.

From Mrs. Manchester: Senior Parents: Make sure to check your email for information about our upcoming Senior Party! Click on this link for the Sign Up Genius.

From the Athletic Department:  Dr. Kremmer and ORS are going to offer physical exams for $5.00(Cash) on June 11th at Lumen Christi.

Two important items:  the MHSAA physical forms must be picked up at Lumen Christi at front office, athletic director’s office, or in the trainer’s office. History portion and and all required signatures must be completed on that MHSAA form on the physical exam day; we will need volunteer assistance in offering the physicals(check in, recording height and weight, check out). Please send an e-mail or call the athletic office if you can volunteer.
