From the Interfaith Shelter Club: The students of the LC Interfaith Shelter Project will be hosting a dress down day Tuesday May 28th for a $3 donation.

Jeans or sweats are ok! No tank tops, ripped jeans, bare midriffs, sandals, shorts, or leggings.

From Mrs. Fleming: AP Exam Students: Students that took AP tests received an AP Student Pack booklet and card with their AP number. The booklet contains information for creating an AP account and receiving/sending score results.  Scores will be available in July through the AP Portal accounts. Students should keep the Student Pack and AP number to create their accounts and check them for results in July.

From the Middle School:

Please find the upcoming Q4 Assessment schedule for 7-8 students.  Below are the dates and subject areas.

High school teachers with 8th grade students, especially in mixed grade level classes, will be giving their tests on Friday in the library.  This will allow an alternate space and additional time for students to take tests.

Rose Parade to show support for Jackson Catholic Schools.

Used Uniform Drop off Days

Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7 from 10:10 am – 11:00 am

Used Uniform Sale and Educational Outfitter Fit and Order Day

Tuesday, June 11  – from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

At the Used Uniform drop off, you will be asked to complete a Used Uniform Collection Form and list each item you are submitting for the sale.  You will also be asked to complete a self-addressed envelope.  Once you have completed the form, and the envelope – you are done!

We will review your items, and ready them for the sale.  You will receive a copy of the Used Uniform Collection Form with the mailing of your student’s year-end report card.  Any item that is not in good condition for the sale will be set aside for your pick-up in the Main Office until Thursday, June 20.  After June 20 the item(s) will be donated.

Accepted Items:

All items must be washed and in good condition to be accepted.  Please review your items carefully. We will not accept items that are “grey” white or that have holes, tears, ink marks, stains,  bleach marks, or that are missing buttons.

All items will be offered for sale at the following prices:

$15 Items:

· Plaid uniform skirts

· Chi Rho Sweaters & Sweater Vests

$10 Items:

· Green or Black quarter zips with the Chi Rho Logo

· Uniform Button-Downs with Chi Rho Logo

· Uniform Pants

$5 Items:

· Uniform Polo Shirts (long or short sleeved)

Used Uniform Sale/Educational Outfitter Fit and Order Day

Tuesday, June 11  – from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Doors will not open until 5 pm.  At the Used Uniform Sale, we will only accept cash and checks.  Credit/Debit cards will not be accepted.  The Purchaser of used uniform items will pay $2 handling fee for each item purchased, remitted to Lumen Christi to offset the cost of hosting the sale (Handling fee ceiling is $10 with – 5 items purchased).

Any items not sold at the Used Uniform Sale on Tuesday, June 11 will be offered for sale at Packet Pick-Up on Tuesday, August 7. We will notify you of any unsold items the first week of September.  Unsold items will be held available for pick-up until Friday, September 20, at which point they will be donated to the school.  Student/Parent understands Cash will be mailed at the address provided above after September 20 for any items sold.

Also – Any items that will not be sold due to poor condition will be held until June 20 for pick-up.  Parents will be notified of the items that will not be included with the EOY Report card mailing.

From the Fan Shop: Big news from the FAN SHOP! From today until the end of the school year (June 7) the ENTIRE Fan Shop is 10% off–AND if you are alumni you will receive an additional 10% (includes graduates of 2019).

Stop in anytime during the school day from 10:30am-3pm to browse and redeem your discount!

From the 8th Grade Teachers:  7th Grade Parents: please check your e-mails this week for a sign-up genius to help with the 8th Grade Advancement Mass.  This is a proud middle school tradition and we appreciate your help!

From Mrs. Miller:  The spring art show is up!  Come see the artistic talents of our Lumen Christi students.  Every student who took an art class 3rd and 4th quarter has an artwork on display!  The show is located in the main office hallway and will be up all next week.  Come check it out!

From the Cafeteria: All student lunch account balances must be paid in full by Tuesday, May 28, 2019.  Students may pay with cash or any remaining positive funds from May 29 , 2019 through June 4, 2019.

It is such an exciting time of year and schedules become very busy!  We want to remind you of our upcoming Honor Assemblies so that you can mark your calendar and celebrate our student success with us.  Students will be honored for excellence in academics, athletics, and extra-curriculars, and for showing grit or being the Light of Christ in these same areas.

Our Assemblies will be held in the Field House.

Grades 9 thru 11 — Monday, June 3 at 8:15 a.m.

Grades 7  & 8 –Tuesday, June 4 at 10:30 a.m.

Note: we will be sending a message early next week to notify families if their student is receiving an award on this day.  We hope this will help you plan your attendance accordingly.

From the 7th and 8th Grade Yearbook Staff:

Parents of 7th and 8th grade track and tennis players – The 7th and 8th grade yearbook

staff is always looking for action photos of the teams. If you take photos at any games

and are willing to share them, we’d love to see them. You can submit your photos

online to our Jostens site. There is no need to use any editing software. You may

submit in JPG, PNG or TFF format.

  • Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload; click on “Select My Images”.
  • Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.
  • Click “Upload Chosen Images.”

Photos can also be submitted on a CD or a USB flash drive to the office and directed to

the 7-8 yearbook.

The yearbook staff will review all photos and determine final yearbook content. We

cannot guarantee that all submissions will be used.

Spring sports photos can be submitted until May 30.

From Mrs. Lefere:  PARENTS AND STUDENTS:  Jackson Magazine is accepting nominations for  Teacher of the Year for next school year (2019-2020).  Lumen Christi has MANY dedicated teachers who deserve to be nominated.   Please consider nominating a teacher within our building or from any of our Catholic schools!  The application process if very easy and you can follow the link below to nominate a teacher!

From the Athletic Department: Lumen Christi will be hosting sports physicals on June 19th from 1-5p. The cost is $5 and all profits will go directly into Lumen Christi’s sports medicine. The form must be completed with all signatures and medical history beforehand. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah, the athletic trainer, or the ADs.

  • From Mrs. Fleming: To the graduating class of 2019, they have collectively served 5350 hours of service to our community! To Advanced Placement students and teachers, 62 students have taken 100 AP tests this year, for a possible 300 hours of college credit!
