ANNOUNCEMENTS

From Mr. Best:Come out to the first Improv Show of the school year tonight at 7PM.  Cost is $4.00 for students and $5.00 for adults.  Start out the Halloween season with a night that will surely make you laugh till your coffin.

From 8th grade teachers: To the 8th grade parents: the form you student brought home seeking chaperones for our upcoming field trip need to be returned by Wednesday,(10/31/18).

From Mrs. Lefere: ATTENTION PARENTS OF 9TH – 12 TH GRADERS: Our annual ThanksLiving project ( ALL 9 – 12th graders go out into our community for 2 hours (8:30-10:30 am) on the Wednesday – November 21st – before Thanksgiving to do a service project within our Jackson community) is coming up.  Attached you will find an OPT OUT letter. If you DO NOT want your child to participate int his activity, please read the letter and respond as directed. OptOutForm-2

For the success of this project WE NEED PARENT DRIVERS AND CHAPERONES!  Be looking in next weeks Weekly Principal Letter for a sign up form if you can help us out by driving students to locations and/or chaperoning the students at the location. See date and times above.

From Fr. Brian and Mrs. Glomski: Any seniors interested in attending Kairos- Get an application from Fr Brian or Mrs Glomski. They are due next Wednesday, Oct 31! This is the only opportunity for seniors to attend, as there will not be a second Kairos this year! Don’t miss out on this awesome experience.

From Advancement: Friday, November 9th is our annual dress down day to support our Dinner & Auction! Each student will have the opportunity to dress down for a donation of at least $3.00. This is a great way to support our annual dinner and auction if you haven’t found just the right thing to donate. The funds collected from this dress down day will be used to create wonderful baskets for silent auction!

We are in need of volunteers for the Auction! Especially we are looking for 2 technology specialists who will assist the mobile bidding team the night of the auction. Training will be provided. If you are interested in a fun and eventful evening, sign up here!

From Mrs. Kuhl: Students will be hearing about the Interfaith Shelter service work and the LCIFS Committee’s new blessing bag project in theology classes next Tuesday. A follow up meeting for new volunteers or anyone interested will be held during 1st lunch/recess on Thursday 11/1 in 128, Mrs. Kuhl’s room. Students interested in the blessing bag project will be given a permission slip to participate. Staff and students gather, prepare and serve the dinner meal at the shelter twice a month (first Monday, third Tuesday.)  The idea behind the blessing bags (small food items, water, socks or gloves, prayer card, hand warmers) are to  carry a bag in your car until you see someone begging. Instead of cash, you can offer a bag! Anyone interested in either of these service opportunities can email Mrs. Kuhl. (mkuhl@myjacs.org)

From the Deans: Our Halloween Dance has been adjusted to accommodate the home football playoff game, as we are not able to host both events at the same time.  The dance will be held Saturday, October 27. The dance for grades 7-8 is from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The dance for grades 9-12 is from 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.  Dances will be held in the auxiliary gym.  This is a casual dance and students are encouraged to come in costumes! Please, no sleeveless tops, no flip flops, no real/fake weapons, and skirts, dresses, or shorts (if worn) must be all the way to the knee.

From the Main Office:  Our Quarter 1 Honor Roll Celebration is coming soon!  We will celebrate students in all grades on Tuesday, November 6. Parents of 7th and 8th graders earning Honor Roll Recognition are invited to join us for Honor Roll Breakfast (parents of high school students — we will see you at the end of the semester!). All students 7-12 who earn Honor Roll are invited to “dress up” that day and students in grades 9-12 will also receive an Honor Roll breakfast. Please check your mailed report card for your invitation!

From Mr. Havlicek: Seniors and Senior Parents: Congrats to the 43 Seniors who have already applied to their first choice college or university! Next week is the November 1 deadline for Early Action, so if your child has still not applied to their first choice school it is not too late. Please feel free to email Mr. H with any questions: dhavlicek@myjacs.org

From Mr. Anderson: For students, and parents of students, attending the March for Life this year: Mr. Anderson has permission slips and information sheets in his classroom if you were not able to make it to the meeting on Thursday. The permission form is due Friday, November 2nd. The total cost for the trip is again $200 this year. The first $100 will be due December 6th. The second half is due Thursday, January 10th. Be sure to get your permission form in to reserve your spot: remember, it is first come first serve and you must meet academic eligibility requirements to attend.

From Sarah Wilhelm, the Athletic Trainer: The winter sports season will quickly be upon us.  Make sure your student athletes have a current sports physical for this school year so they don’t miss out on participating. If you have questions on if one is on file, email me at swilhelm@myjacs.org.

  • No hands in the photos
  • Background should be in plain color
  • No outdoor shots
  • Vertical shots only

Gentlemen:

  • Hair should be off the collar, ears, and out of the eye
  • No hats
  • Clean-shaven
  • Dress shirt with tie
  • Suit coats, if available

Ladies:

  • No extreme hairstyles
  • Only ears may be pierced
  • No plunging necklines
  • Tops must have sleeves
