Easter Wishes from Lumen Christi
This past week, on Palm Sunday, we were reminded of the sacrifices of Christ and his suffering in the Gospel.
At the same time, hope shines from the cross. When a criminal hanging to one side of Jesus exclaims “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us” he is admonished by the man on the other side of Christ: “We have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.” Then, hope shines. The man cries “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus’ response: “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in the Paradise.”
Even at that very last moment, on the cross, having committed a crime, as soon as the man opened his heart to Christ and asked for forgiveness, he was invited in to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Christ is always, always, waiting for all of us. He is always ready to invite us into the Kingdom of Heaven. He is always ready to help us with our crosses, our burdens, our crimes, and our laments. Christ is right there, waiting.
All we have to do is ask.
Wishing you and your family a blessed Easter season.
In the Light of Christ,
